Our Community Life Groups, or "Hope Groups" as they have come to be called, meet weekly at our parent church campus, Hope Chapel.
Studio Group:
We have a stocked 2-D studio space for visual artists (3-D artists are welcomed, but currently we have no kiln to fire completed sculptures), but any artist (be they visual artist, performer, writer, you name it) wanting community are invited to come sit and stew in the creative space of the Wednesday Night studio time.
The studio time occurs at Hope Chapel, 6701 Arroyo Seco, Austin, TX, 78757 whenever / if the studio manager is on-site. Click link to email for more information.
Artist-led Community Group:
Meeting Wednesday Nights at Hope Chapel, 6701 Arroyo Seco, Austin, TX, 78757 from 6:00P.M.-7:30P.M., this group is dual-geared towards (on the one hand) exploring the ancient spiritual and contemplative practices of the historic Christian Church -- from the time of the ancient desert fathers to contemporary meditational practices-- and (on the other hand) fostering community togetherness . This is a group inclusive of non-artists and anyone seeking to explore spiritual practices and disciplines, while also engaging in an art-centric community life. The first half of the evening is devoted to spiritual practice / meditation, and the second half to regular community life (catching up together, praying for one another, deep diving, you name it). Contact the group leader for more information.
Throughout the week our community frequently gets together to watch art films, visit galleries and attend openings together. The best way to be included in these ad-hoc socializing events is to come to. the Wednesday Night Artist-led Community Group, or to contact our Art Director if something specifically advertised catches your interest.
For more questions, contact our Art Director, or fill out an "Information Request Form".
